Self-actualization
Self-actualization is the process of reach our full potential. But in order to achieve self-actualization we must first conquer the preceding hierarchy of needs (physiological needs, safety, love, and self-esteem). Self-actualization eventually leads to self-transcendence which is finding purpose and meaning beyond yourself. Through his studies Maslow found that those who reach self-actualization and self-transcendence were more happy and better understood their function in society and the world.
This theory exemplifies humanistic perspective because it's entire purpose is furthering of humanity and developing into the best person you could be. This relates to personality development because if your goal in life is achieving this hierarchy of needs then your personality and growth will be shaped by it.
